truck driver 2

What has inspired me to tell the world of my truck driver story is I made a difference in a good way. Least be know to me. I am grateful for my Lord.

So when I was 9 years old my father told me you drive. I was scared to death I would put that truck in the ditch but it was better than riding with him. 80 years ago it was normal for truck drivers to be drunkenly stupid drivers pill heads. Sick but true!
So I decided it was better for me to drive than a drunken fool. I started driving. 1961 International B61 180 Cummins 4x4 first truck I ever drove. My dad's truck. Well drove that in summer of 1970 . Boy those where pretty crazy times. No jakes wedge brakes and Do Not Count On Brakes truck driver! Hauling swinging horse meat to Chicago or San Francisco.  Oh boy two lane all the way. Traffic was a mess back then because laws where different. All truck drivers are responsible for every traffic violation.  Oh yea.
Days I remember watching 12 inches of fire coming out of the end of the smoke stack. Make sure my job was to make sure he didn't get motor to hot so it didn't blow up. Coming down Donner pass California going 15 mph top bottom 55 mph feeling completely out of control. Yea it's real.
